Copenhagen

I always enjoy the mattresses and the salty air – so I slept like a baby.

In the morning we enjoyed the TSL breakfast.

We docked a Oceankaj, very far away from the city.

The shuttle buses for the price of 12,90 € seemed the most sensible
alternative to get to the city. Due to an accident 2 weeks before thetrip, my friend was physically restricted, so public transportation was out of the question. (For Public transport: Follow dthe road Oceankaj, in front of Terminal 1 at the kiosk buy tickets: Zone 2 (3,20 €), take the first right into „Oceanvej“ (800 m), after 120 m behind the parking lot right handside you see the bus stop. Citypass costs 120 DKK (16 € for 1E1K ) Public buses Lines 25 and 27 connect Oceankaj with Østerport Station (both bus lines) and Nørreport Station (line 25). At Østerport train station you can continue by public transport (bus or suburban train) or walk. The Little Mermaid is only about 700 meters away. At Nørreport station you have metro connection.)

Of course, as usual, the HoHo buses stopped right in front of the ship. Personally, I am not a friend of these tours. The frequency is usually quite low and the price is often relatively high.

For CPH you could buy the tour online for 27 € (discount code GoRed10). If we had known that we would do the boat tour, that of course would have been the cheaper alternative.

So we were dropped off by the shuttle directly in front of the department store „Magasin du Nord“ and strolled to the beautiful district of Nyhaven, where we bought a family ticket for a boat trip for 34 € (4 persons). (Credit cards are accepted everywhere even for very small amounts).

The weather is beautiful and the female guide manages to give us a history of Copenhagen in an entertaining way. Well spent time.

Then we make use of the fact that we have left all our men at home and enjoy a leisurely shopping trip, in which the well-known Lakrids of course must not be missed:

Back at the ship we try the buffet. In spite of  it being a port-day and quite anticyclically chosen hours, the crowds are oppressive.

We manage to get a good place and the quality and the selection of the food are good. Then we try, if the Venchi ice cream is still included in the YC beverage package.

That is still the case: Sundaes, milkshakes, all drinks (including those with a „*„) all inclusive.

Of course, the ice cream wanted to be tanned off again, which is why my daughter and her friend visited the GYM.

In order for us to do so, we all had to sign a „Waiver“, whereupon a small sticker was added on the cruisecard. The studio was well visited throughout the trip but never completely crowded even on sea days.

The dinner at La Palmerai had its disappointments. The menu is almost identical throughout the fleet. That’s why I was absolutely happy when I discovered the „Pistachio-crusted rack of lamb“ that I had eaten so many times.

I praised it so much that my girlfriend wanted to try it too.

Well …

It was inedible gum. We could not even cut it, let alone eat it.

From the top left: Parma ham, Amberjack carpaccio, truffle risotto, swordfish, lamb chalk, chocolate cake, Tarte Tatin – (apple pie).

Seeing that we had not touched the lamb, the waiters and the maître D‘  came to see us immediately and offer us something different, but the risotto was delicious and adequate.

After a couple of cocktails in the TSL we went to bed.
